The Durbanville Golf Club began in 1971 on a course with very little grass, clay soil, a gravel car-park and no clubhouse. The course and the Club had been conceived by local amateur enthusiasts and approved by the community at a meeting at the Town Hall. The original layout was designed by Ken Elkin.

Durbanville Craft Market takes place on the first Saturday of the month as well as every Saturday during the December festive season. It runs from 08h30 until 14h00 and is located under the age old Oaks in the beautiful gardens of the National Heritage, Rust en Vrede Estate, in Wellington Road, Durbanville. Here you can leisurely wander through approximately 200 stalls displaying a variety of unique handmade articles such as pottery, needlework, decoupage, paintings and much more.

The Cape Argus PPA Giro del Capo - is an International Four one-day race event, organised in South Africa since 1992 in the Western Cape, in the vicinity of the 'Mother City' - Cape Town.
The event is referred to as the 'Giro del Capo', meaning 'The Tour of the Cape' and is hosted under the auspices of the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust, Cycling South Africa and the International Cycling Union. The event forms part of the UCI's African Tour.
